Chapter 2: Why Mobile First
You may have heard designers throwing the phrase "mobile first" around. A developer may have come to you and said that the implementation would have been ten times easier if only it had been "mobile first". Or perhaps you may have read Luke Wroblewski's 2009 blog post about mobile becoming the new medium. No matter where you have heard the phrase, starting mobile first is a sure-fire way to make sure that your design works for a majority of the people and that your most important details are front and center.
Building on the foundation gained from Chapter 1 in learning that content is everything, this chapter describes some of the differences between mobile devices and other devices. Part of these differences include the size of your device. If you are unsure what the size/resolution of your device is, you can visit the Device Statistics page to learn more about the device you are using to view this page.
